Meet Ruth Maragni
Farmer, Digger of Dirt, and Artist
Farming wasn't on my career list, never mind flower and fig farming. But then again, becoming a landscape painter wasn't either. When I moved to Amherst, I was looking for a simpler life. Over the years the land pulled me in, healed and embraced me. We now do a beautiful dance of nurturing one another and the community through farming and my art.

Working for a farm market during COVID I was lucky to nurture friendships with many of the farmers. I was very inspired by them, implementing lots of their suggestions into my garden. Within a year I was growing vegies all four seasons. I was now farming. My hobby had become a way of life. And I love it! We now have a greenhouse, start our own seedlings, propagate figs, and so much more...
And the best part, I get to share my homegrown goodness with my neighbors, friends, and community.

​My earliest memories are picking violets and dandelions for my mother. I have always loved flowers, planting them in beds, and amongst the herbs and vegetables. My first rose garden I started at age 13. But the idea of a flower farm... It was a seed planted by one of my cousins who farms. Like all my creative endeavors I needed to consider what needs, wants, and emotions the flowers would fill for you and those you would gift them to.

Our flowers are an elegant expression of love, wild beauty, unbridled joy, comfort, and the healing properties of the natural world.

A brief word about our figs. Planting figs was my husband’s idea which started my love affair with figs. My mission now is to introduce people to the wonderful culinary uses of them. We grow 7 different varieties here and each is unique in their flavor and color. What could go more perfectly with growing flowers, but a fig, an inverted flower…

Nature has always been the place I go to when I need peace or healing… it is my refuge in the storm. My hope is that our flowers, figs, and produce bring you peace, joy, and comfort…
